Georgian women performed very well. The former champion Chiburdanidze Maia showed her great form.
Susan, are you going to interview them?
Susan thank you very much for your dedication to chess and excellent pictures you have taken. You put so much energy and time in this, appreciated.
I’m truly amazed by performance of Georgia’s women’s team. Headed by former world champion – legendary Maia Chiburdanidze, Georgia did almost unthinkable, after bitter and surprising defeat from Poland, team regrouped, won all games (including 3 consecutive games with 4:0 dry wins), and won key matches against China and Serbia and won Gold Medal. Maia Chiburdanidze did phenomenal job, scored 7.5 out og 9 against strong chess stars, seemed to be revitalized with new energy, if she continues like that easily can claim world champion title again, that would be a total shocker ha,,,,
Rest of the Georgian team deserves praise as well, Nana Dzagnidze, Maia Lomineishvili, Lela Javakhishvili and Sophiko Khukhashvili. Team captain Nino Gurieli (former olimpic champion x 3) did a great job, leading this team to gold medals.
Ukraine did great as well, didnt lose a game and USA performed great.
And at the end, I ejoyed this blog very much, was a source of news, pictures and everything we chess fans want to recieve instantly and for that I thank you Susan Polgar for her dedication.
