Congratulations to Georgia Tech on winning the 2007 Georgia Open College Team Chess Championship this past weekend at Emory University. This annual event is conducted by the Georgia Chess Association as part of a broader slate of scholastic and open state chess championships held throughout the year. A college or university is permitted up to two 4-person teams at this tournament, and the competition has been open to colleges outside of Georgia.
The runners-up this year were from Clemson University in South Carolina, followed by the University of Georgia Bulldogs “A” team in third place. Other participants included teams from Berry College, Dekalb Technical College, and Mercer University. An excel document with final team standings and tie breaks is attached.
We look forward to an even better competition next year — so keep us informed on your latest contact information. Many thanks to those participating.
Sincerely,
Georgia Chess Association

It is quite telling about the state of affairs at the USCF that the Susan Polgar Blog covers US chess activity BETTER than the USCF website.
Keep up this great effort!
No doubt. This site moves quick, and the other moves with the speed of a glacier.
Yep. Not ten minutes after forwarding to Susan, she posted it. Ten minutes… unbelievable.
Thank-you Susan,
