Nd7 !?
Bb7 B*b7
Nd7
followed by Nb6 #
Ne6
Almost there, after Qd8 then White has famous legacy mate! Since Nb5 mate is stopped White had a double attack/threat with Qb8+ and after Qxb8 comes Nb6 mate!
I came up with this line but I dont know if The BLK Q has a better move than what what is in my line, anyway… Ne6 Qf7 Nc7+ Kb8 Nd5+ Ka8 Nb6#
1. Bb7+ Bxb7
2. Nd7 Qd8 (else 3. Qb8# or
3. Nb6#, if
2. .. Qc5+ then
Nxc5 wins)
3. Qb8+ Qxb8
4. Nb6#
1. Ne6 Qf7 2. Nc7+ Kb8 3. Nd5+ Ka8 4. Nb6#
1.Ne6 Qf3 !
It was harder to found this move than the whole solution to Susan’s problem:-) And now:
2.Qg8+ Nc8 3.Bxc8 (3.Qxc8+ Ka7) 3…Qe3+ 4.Kf1 (4.Kh2? Qf2+ 5.Kh3 Qf1+ 6.Kh4 Qh1+ 7.Kg5 Qg1+ with 8.Qxg8) 4…Bb5+ 5.Kg2 Bc6+ 6.Kf1 Bb5+ with perpetual.
Hi,
1. Bb7+ Bxb7
2. Nd7 Qd8 Black queen can’t check/pin without losing it.
3. Qb8+ Qxb8
4. Nb6++
if
2… Qb4
3… Qb8++
if
2… Nb5 Nxf8
Ne6 Qf3?
Qg8+
Ne6,Qf7 Nc7+,Qxc7 Qxc7,Be4 Qe7,Bh1 Qd8+,Nc8 Qxc8+,Ka7 Kxh1,Kb6 Bd3,Ka7 Qa6+,Ka8 Be4#
Or Bb7+,Bxh7 Nd7,Qd8 Qb8+,Qxb8 Nb6# or otherwise win the Queen
The solution is really beautiful!
I didn’t take a look and read the posts at once but I have to admit that I do not think I would have found that.
I’d like to have such an ending once in a real game of mine (even if I am black ;)).
Thanks Susan!
