What about
1.Rd6 cxd
2.Qxe6+ Kd8
3.Rd1
if 3…h1Q then
4.Rxd6 Qxd6
5.b6 and white is winning
You have a very good idea. Why is Bxd6 not preferable?
1 Bxd6 cxd
2 Qxe6+ Kd8
3 exd6 Re8
4 Qxf5 (couldn’t find stronger move)

You need to add 5. Qxd6+ Kc8 before b6, then you have the game as played.
