The 6th Penang Heritage City International Chess Open 2014 is taking place on 8-12th December 2014 at the Red Rock Hotel in Penang, a state in Malaysia, located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
The event is split into two 9-round Swiss tournaments:
– Open Tournament – open to all players
– Challenger Tournament – open to players rated below 2000 FIDE Elo or below 1850 MCF Elo
The prize fund will be awarded as follows:
Open Tournament: 8.000 MYR (nearly 1.900 €)/ 5.000 MYR/ 2.000 MYR/ 1.000 MYR/ 800 MYR/ 700 MYR/ 650 MYR/ 600 MYR/ 550 MYR, etc.
Challenger Tournament: 800 MYR/ 600 MYR/ 400 MYR/ 300 MYR/ 250 MYR/ 200 MYR/ 150 MYR/ 100 MYR/ 100 MYR, etc.
Four players share first place with perfect 3/3 score: GM Susanto Megaranto (Indonesia), IM Dhopade Swapnil(India), IM Oliver Dimakiling (Philippines) and IM S. Nitin (India). You can see the full standings after Round 3 below.
