The Texas State Girl’s Championship was held this past weekend at Central Catholic Elementary in Coprus Christi, Texas. The K-1 section was won by Sarah LeeSang, sister of Bridget LeeSang, K-1 State Champion 2006, also winner of the Susan Polgar World Open for Girls in Las Vegas 2007.
Sarah LeeSang is the fourth child of Dr. & Mrs. Jerome LeeSang of Portland, Texas. The LeeSang family consist of six children, all of them chess players. The LeeSang Girl’s and Boys train at the South Texas Chess Center with their Coach Deleon.
The High School section was won by Courtney Jamison who also is the winner of the 2008 Susan Polgar National Invitational for Girls at Texas Tech University.
