Susan, I assume this was one of Karpov’s two title defenses against Korchnoi. What color of yoghurt did Karpov have at this game? Lol.
This championship has to be the one most fraught with controversies and accusations in the history of chess. Topalov-Kramnik and Kasparov-Karpov do not compare to this.
Susan, perhaps you should conduct a poll on this (what the most scandalous/controversial World Championship in history was)
This is the 1974 Candidates Final Karpov-Korchnoi in Moscow and not one of the 2 Title Matches 78 & 81.
In fact it turned out to be decisive on the next world champion as Fischer didn’t defend the title and so the winner of the candidates final karpov (by one win ahaed of korchnoi) became world champion.
