White has a straightforward mate:
1 Rxh7+ Kxh7
The alternatives are no better. If 1 … Kg8, 2 Rh8+ Kg7, 3 Qh6+ Kxf7, 4 Qh7#. Or 1 … Kf8, 2 Qh6+ Kg8, 3 Qg7#.
Black’s next three moves are forced.
2 Qh6+ Kg8
3 Qh8+ Kxf7
4 Qh7+ Kf8
5 Bh6#
Rxh7 Kxh7 Qh6+ Kg8Qh8+Kxf7 Qh7+ Kf8 Bh6#
what is the rate for this problem!!

zee problem was very simple yes…doing my german accent…
This appears to be a forced mate:
rxh7 kxh7 Qh6 Kg8 Qh8 Kxf7 Qh7 Kf8 Bh6 mate
1 R:h7+ K:h7
2 Qh6+ Kg8
3 Qh8+ K:f7
4 Qh7+ Kf8
5 Bh6#
White can mate in a few moves:
1. Rxh7+ Kxh7 What else? Kg8 or Kf8 is answered by 2.Rh8+ Kg7 3.Qh6+ Kxf7 4.Qh7#
2. Qh6+ Kg8
3. Qh8+ Kxf7
4. Qh7+ Kf8
5. Bh6#
All black moves are forced.
Rxh7+ Kxh7, Qh6+ Kg8, Qh8+ Kxf7, Qh7+ Kf8, Bh6#
Missing a clear direct attack on king, I immediately feel for investigating Nd6.
Regarding the threat Qf7, there are only two answers to look at:
The first one is
Qf8? Rxg7 Kg8 Rh8!
No, no, it has to be Qg8.
Now, I am less certain of the continuation.
So, what I have found is:
1. Nd6 Qg8
This just looks so nice, it has to be correct?
I notice that a queen sack wood probably be at least temporary, e.g.
2. Qh6+ Rxh6
3. Bxh6 Kh8
4. Bf8+ Qh7
5. Nf7+ Kg8
6. Nxh6 Qxh6
7. Bxh6
This doesn’t look winning though, more an example of how complicated (and funny) this goes.
There are (many) more lines to investigate, and the correct solution is probably simpler than the mentioned example 🙂
I simply don’t find it right now, but I feel very convinced that
1. Nd6 Qg8
should be the right start!
1 Rxh7+ Kxh7
2 Qh6+ Kg8
3 Qh8+ Kxf7
4 Qh7+ Kf8
5 Bh6 mate
