white can save the game with 1.Ke6
I am writing to tell you Susan that I have played my last game. I can’t call what I play chess, but ramblings of chaotic stupidity of a moron! I was at Playchess and had the Black pieces and played the Sicilian Najdorf, a 60 minute game. I outplayed my opponent for 58 minutes. Chess is for the gifted and genuis players not for idiot morons like myself. I lose a won game with the %^$#^&@* endgame dropping pawns like flies! because the checkmate I discovered was refuted by a dam fluke N that just happened to be there on that random square. You played the guy from fritz and what did you do? You won. Kasparov played and he won. Fischer played and he won. I dont know why I tried to kid myself into thinking I can play this game of genuises of finite possiblities. I am so upset my blood pressure is up and I feel ill. All the puzzles in the world wont help and all the books on the planet wont help an imbecile. I could study for 100 years and play for 5 lifetimes and still wouldnt be any good.

White can save the game by
1. Ke6
followed by either 2.Kd7 or 2.Kf7 depending on where the Black King goes. It is necessary to occupy the same file as the Black King to ward off Queen checks.
If the Queen can force the King to e8 ahead of the pawn, Black has time to bring the King in.
so far so good – but what will happen if the given position is moved from the e-file to the g-file or b-file?
:))
(i know my Averbakh – sometimes – and much worse i’d like to remember it in real matches – ^^)
greetings, Vohaul
Im sorry Susan I wrote that ridiculous message. I have a very bad temper and was totally frustrated. I guess I shouldnt play chess if I cant have fun doing it.

TFK you are my kind of guy.
I am doing all the problems on ICC. they have what are called trainingbot with over 1200 problems.
Problems are the best way to increase your playing strength.
ICC has other bots. a bot is a robot or computer. I believe they have one for endgames. I am still working the general one.
I am going through the trainingbot for the 2nd time. and wow do I notice the difference this time. really much better than the first time on the problems.
thanks Tommy! I belong to ICC. I am Dr Jekyll. Maybe we can play sometime.

Historically, it is a very interesting case:
First, the immensely great Troitzky composed a study which was busted by this very precise combination, and then, he included the bust in a latter study.

Troitzky’s studies are often unsound, but there are full of interesting ideas. The correct ones is, needless to say, as beautiful as a Joconde
