While watching the game I wondered why white didn’t play 1. Rd8+, Bg8 2. Nd7.
What can black do against the horrible threat Nf6?

After 1. Rd8+ Bg8 2. Nd7
Black could try 2. .. Rb7 3. Nf6 Rg7+
Jochen, the problem is 2. … Rd4! with no progress possible for White.
Instead winning is 1. Re7! with the plan of Nd7 and Nf6 (as mentioned by Jochen already). For instance:
1. Re7 Bg8
2. Nd7 Re4
3. Rg7! (not Rxe4 due to Bh7+ 🙂 and now Nf6 wins.

Yes, after 2…Rb7(?) White can win with either 3.Kh6 or 3.Nf6. But what does White do after 2…Rd4?
