Qf4+ 1-0
1.Qf4+ Ke6 2.Nf6+ Ke7 3.Qe5+ Be6 4.Qxe6 mate
Kamalakanta
1. Qf4+ Ke6
2. Nc7+ Kd7
3. Be6+ Ke7
4. Qg5+ Kd6
5. QxQ+
It seems obvious to play 1. Qf4+ forcing Ke6, then Nc7++. Now Black has two choices.
2…Ke7 3. Qe5+ Kd7 4. Be6+ Ke7 5. B:c8+ Kf7 6. Qe6#
2…Kd7 3. Be6+ Ke7 4. Qg5+ Kd6 5. Q:d8+ and black loses the house.
1. Qf4+ is an easy find because of the discovered check it creates. As it turns out, it leads to the win as well.
1. … Ke6
2. Nc7+ Kd7 (2. … Ke7 3. Qe5+ Kd7 4. Be6+ Ke7 5. Bxc8+ Kf7 6. Qe6#)
3. Be6+ Ke7
4. Qg5+ Kd6
5. Qxd8+ Bd7 (5. … Kc5 6. b4+ Kb6 7. Nxa8+ Ka6 8. Qa5#)
6. Qxd7+ Kc5
7. b4+ Kb6
8. Nxa8+ Ka6
9. Bc4+ b5
10. Qxc6#
1 d4+ looks pretty good
if 1… Kxd4 then
2. Qf4+ Kc5
3. Be3#
Otherwise the king is forced out into the open and under attack from both bishops Queen and knight and pawn looks pretty promising in all other lines.
1. Qf4 Ke6 2. Nb6+ and now
A) …Qd5 3. Qe4+ Kany 4. Nxd5 and White´s attack should win
B) …Ke7 3. Qe5+ Be6 4. Qxe6#
This can’t be a line from the Italian game, try it!
But White has a forced mate from here.
As I said on Facebook and I’ll add such comments here for the none Facebook users. Think about why you are all playing Nc7+, it covers no new squares the bishop covers those yes? Would not Nb6 be better it takes away additional squares from the king. Think fully about the position in front of you and don’t let your mind run too far ahead.
