Vishy has the Mumps!
I have been reading in this blog that people accuse of ANAND being GM Drawish. Well tomorrow he will have to win because Carlsen has to go for the win. His eyes will be on Carlsen’s board. Where can we watch the game live?
El Profesor
Profesor, I think you are confusing Vishy with Kramnik (aka Drawnik).
He could not make this tournament because his toilet could not get pass coustoms.
Pass it on.
Hahaha. Really i read in other entries that he was drawish. I thinks its going to be a great round. what happens if anand draws and carlsen wins?
Who wins the tiebreaker?
El Profesor
“Really i read in other entries that he was drawish.”
You did? Who cares to say something like that about our apprechiated always fighting world champ?
Haha, sorry, I couldn’t resist.
“Well tomorrow he will have to win because Carlsen has to go for the win.”
I do not think so. I predict he will have to go for the win as Topalov won’t play his drawing game. I HOPE he won’t.
Anand would be happy about a draw… hoping that Carlsen will draw or lose.
I predict Topalov will set the board on fire. And if he kills himself as he did often before everyone will say that this was a great win by Anand. So I hope, finally Topa will not commit suicide (I mean over the board of course)…
My predictions:
Anand – Topalov: 1-0 or 0-1
Carlsen – Radjabov: 0-1 (sry 🙁 )
Leko – Aronian: 1/2 (fought draw)
Shirov – Ivanchuk: 1/2 (fought draw)
I hope for:
A-T: 0-1
C-R: 1-0
L-A: 0-1
S-I: 1-0 ah no… 0-1… hmm, I like them both… so doesn’t matter.
Let’s see what the last round bring’s tomorrow…
Best regards
Jochen
PS: why “el profesor”?
Topalov will definatley go all out to win so I hope he doesn’t self destruct as he has done in other games in this tournament. Anand will be a very tough opponent to beat when all he wants is to draw, so this will be a great game to watch. I hope Topalov wins!
Carlsen also is going to go all out to win and get revenge so this also will be a great game to watch.
I hope Carlsen wins but I like Radj for bringing back the KID!
Leko is playing better than he did for 2/3 of tournament so probably a draw with win odds to Aronian.
I hope Aronian wins!
I love both players so I just hope a great game and hard fought results.
Well, Anand is Anand, we´ve seen how he´s played in latest games, controlled the situation and I have little doubt he will do this also in the last game against Topalov with white. He loses rarely and with draw has at least tied first place on points. But Carlsen might well catch him up, Radjabov is not easy to break but with white pieces I´m pretty sure the Magnificent will certainly try!
i have the weird impression that topalov just doesn’t care about winning or losing except for leko and kramnik where he puts all his energy and preparation.
if results combine there can be 4 persons, or refrasing myself, half o the participants would share the same number of points!!
how more exciting can one ask a tournament to be, i wonder???
jb.
Looks like it it time for the Carlson choke

I have no ill towards Anand. I have no ill towards any player because I respect the efforts of those who pursue this noble sport. However, I hope Carlsen wins.

I bet that Anand’s team spent the whole night in negotiations with Topalovs team in order to get a draw in less than 20 moves. That is the only way Anand can win this tournament…..by drawing!!
Remember that Anand is president of the infamous Draw Club, where Topalov and Kramnik are VIP Members.
Anand is just playing to win the tournament – It is not necessary to win each game!
Note that Radjabov has 9 draws. Anand, Aronian and Ivanchuck have 8 draws each!.
Topalov’s problem is that without an opening surprise from his second (Chep) he cannot defeat top players except when they also go all out and hit time trouble. He cannot outplay Anand with the same old Sicilian stuff when Anand only needs a draw.
This tournament he did not beat up on the bottom players enough to have a shot at winning.
Carlsen may still tie for first, Radj tends to get silly in final rounds and I expect he will be worse by move 3 in a Schlieman Ruy Lopez. If Carlsen is tired though he will force a quick and sterile drawn position from this bad opening.
We’ll see soon I guess!
That didn’t take long.
Topalov played a known line in the Sicilian to go down a pawn with just enough comp to hope for cheapos. Given the tournament position this is an easy draw for Anand, and Top will take chances maybe one to many and Anand clinches clear first.
Radj played to lose, Carlsen played to go home early with a lock on second prize. Looks like the game will be over very quickly.
Shirov also plays to go home quick and forget about this tournament. Hopefully Chucky will fight for something, this position is much more active than a normal Exchange French.
Leko-Aronian is actually a normal game, best one to watch today.
