FIDE-World-Junior-Under-20-Championships-2015

The FIDE World Junior Under-20 Championships 2015(open and girls under 20) will be held in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, from the 31st of August -1st of September (arrival) till the 16th of September (departure) 2015.

The Championships will be organized and held by Ugra Chess Federation under the auspices of Russian Chess Federation and FIDE.

The Ugra Chess Federation has organized a number of prestigious international events, most recently the finalFIDE Grand Prix tournament.

Each National Federation has a right to send one (1) player born on or after the 1st of January 1995 for both categories (open and girls), total two (2) hosted players.

Players with a personal right according to the FIDE Regulations, will also be accepted as hosted players;
a. The top 3 players of the previous edition;
b. The Continental Junior Champions of the year preceding this edition;
c. The top 6 (4 for Girls) Junior U20 players from the FIDE Rating List as of 1st of January of the current year;
d. World Youth U18 and U16 Champions of the year preceding this edition.

FIDE Federations can send as many additional players as they wish.

The tournament will be played according to the Swiss System in 13 rounds. Only FIDE ratings will be used for the pairings.

The FIDE time control is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from the 1st move. All other regulations apply as per FIDE Handbook. Default time is 15 minutes.

The silver and bronze medalists of both categories (open/boys U20 and girls U20) receive the IM and WIM titles respectively.

GM and IM norms are also possible for the other players based on their performance and their opponent’s titles/ratings as per FIDE Handbook requirements.

The total Prize Fund for the whole tournament, for both Open and Girls Category, is 10,000 Euro:

1st place – 3,000 Euros / 2,000 Euros
2nd place – 2,000 Euros / 1,250 Euros
3rd place – 1,000 Euros / 750 Euros

Top three places in every category will be awarded with medals and presents.

All participants are obliged to stay in the official hotel and booking must be done through the Organizing Committee.

Full board accommodation will be offered in the hotel «Olympic» (45, Engels St., Khanty-Mansiysk) booked by the Organizing Committee. There is free Wi-Fi in the whole hotel (in the lobby on the ground floor, in the restaurant on the first floor, in all rooms).

Free accommodation and full board will be provided to the hosted players from the 1st of September till the 16th of September (breakfast). All participants will be accommodated in double rooms in the official hotel.

Additional players and all accompanying persons should book a room in the official hotel through the on-line registration of the Organizing Committee.
