FIDE has been informed that a certain entity with the name Amateur Chess Organisation is advertising events so-called “World Amateur Championships” supposed to be held in Rhodes in 2014. These events do not have any official recognition neither from FIDE nor from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

FIDE is the only global organisation recognised by the IOC to hold the World Championships in chess of all categories and age groups. FIDE informs its national federations and their members that these so called “World Championships” for Youth and Amateur are not the official FIDE events and they will not be included in the FIDE rating list.

The FIDE WORLD AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014 shall be held from 25 Aril to 4 May in Singapore. Download Regulations.
