1. Nd6
** 1. Nd6 **
could you elaborate? i dont see the draw
1. nd6 e3 2. nf7 kh7 3. ne5 kh6 4. h3 kg5 5. nf3 kf5 and ke4
or 4. nf3 kg6 5. h3 kf5 -+
I do see the fortress: w: nf3 p h3; b: kf5 pp f4, e2. Note that it doesn’t work if the black pawn in on e3 square. the question is how to make black to push the pawn to e2?
there must be a zugzwag or something
ok. 1. nd8
1… f3 may even lose
1… kh7 2. ne6=
1… e3 2. h3 black is in zugzwang and the fortress mentioned above is achieved: on 2…. e2 white plays nd8-f7-g5-f3
the possibility of ne6 makes the difference.
very nice study!

6.Ng1 is still good for a draw.
