{Never solved a chess problem quicker than I solved this one. Oh, well. Ningbo and Hangzhou are coming up soon tonight. Don’t want to fry the brain on a difficult problem before then.}
1. Rd7
Lucymarie
Rd7 is definitely the move of choice. I’ve worked out a mate in six, but someone here may have something more efficient: 1. Rd7 f4 2. Rxe7 fxg3+ 3. Kh3 g2+ 4. Qxe3 Kg8 5. Qg5+ Kf8 6. Qg7 mate.
1 Rd7
Next problem please.
Rook to D7!!!! mate in 7.
1.Rd7 Re2+
[if 1..Qxd7 2.Qf8#]
[if 1..cxb2 2.Rxe7 b1=Q (2..Kg8 3.Qg7#) 3. Qf8#]
2.Kh3 Qxh4+
[if 2..cxb2 3.Rxe7 b1=Q 4.Qf8#]
[if 2..f4 3.Rxe7 Rh2+ 4.Kxh2 (4.Kg4 c2 5.Qf8#) 4..fxg3+ 5.Kxg3 cxb2 6.Qf8#]
3.Qxh4 cxb2
[if 3..Kg8 4.Qd8#]
4.Qd8# ..that’s better! More challenging puzzles like this please. lol

The black queen is guarding f8, and for the moment that’s the only square for the white queen to deliver mate in one. With Rd7, there is an attack to the queen, and to h7. It’s mate in 4 moves.
Rd7 wins.
