1. Bb8+ Ka8 2. Bc7+ Ka7 back and forth, but with the Bishop on c7 blocking the d8 square from the black bishop and queen, now white gets to replace the rook with the queen, which mates: 3. Ra8+ Kxa8 4. Qd8+ Ka7 5. Qb8#
As so many times before, what I immediatately (first seconds) see in the diagram, is an illusion. The rook sack Ra8+ looked good, until I saw that Qd8+ of cource isn’t possible.
But, it has happened me so often before, that such an initial illusion actually becomes truth after a couple of other moves first. I don’t know why, is it magic?
So, i immediately starts looking for some move that makes Qd8 possible!!
And, here it comes. Black has only one legal answer to all my moves.
1. Bb8+ Ka8 2. Bc7+ (this is the magic 🙂 Ka7 3. Ra8+ Kxa8 4. Qd8+ Ka7 5. Qb8#

I can’t find a mate, so I think best is:
1. Bb8+ Ka8
2. Bxf4+ Ka7
3. Bb8+ Ka8
4. Bxh2+ Ka7
Removes Black’s promotion threat.
5. Bb8+ Ka8
6. Bd6+ Ka7
7. c5 Bxc5
8. Bb8+ Kb6
9. Bc7+ KxB
10. Qd8+ winning the Black Queen.
Can’t we run a windmill with Bb8 then back after Qa8 ?
Following my previous comment, I have just realised that Black can respond with
7. … Bc7
I think a better continuation from the original position is
1. Bb8 Ka8
2. Bc7+! Ka7
3. Ra8+! Kxa8
4. Qd8+ Ka7
5. Qb8#
So there’s mate after all.

Well, first, it’s a draw with
1. Bb8+ Ka8
2. Bc7+ Ka7 back and forth, but with the Bishop on c7 blocking the d8 square from the black bishop and queen, now white gets to replace the rook with the queen, which mates:
3. Ra8+ Kxa8
4. Qd8+ Ka7
5. Qb8#
white has a way to enable a queen check on the back rank to take advantage of the black king’s restricted mobility:
Bb8+ Ka8
Bc7+ Ka7
Ra8+ Kxa8
Qd8+ Ka7
Qb8 mate
you cannot play
7. c5 due to Qxa2+ and Qb2+ mate
looks like draw by perpetual check for white.

Khairie Hisyam: 7. c5 allows the mate after 7. … Qxa2+.

1 Ra8+ Kxa8, 2 Qd8+ doesn’t work, because the Queen can be captured by the Bishop.
White wins by first cutting off the Black Bishop’s access to d8.
1 Bb8+ Ka8
2 Bc7+!
The point of the maneuver. White’s Bishop now stands in the way of Black’s Bishop, making the ensuing combination possible.
2 … Ka7
3 Ra8+! Kxa8
4 Qd8+
This is now safe, thanks to the Bishop blocking Black from this square.
