1. ne5+! rxe5
2. Rxf6+! kxf6
3. Qxe5+ and 4. Qxb8
Rxf6 check KxR
Ne5 Re5
Qe6 K any
QxR
Arctic Knight
oops firstNe5 then Rxf6
AK
Looks like 1. Ng5+ is the start.
1… fxg5 2. Qxg6+, and Black will have to give up the Q for a R. Q+6P against R+R+2P wins easily.
1…Kf8 (1…Kg7 2. Re7+) 2. Nh7+ is worse for Black.
I’ve been looking at the diagram for more than three minutes, trying to get into some lines. To be honest, in a real game i would play
Rc6, with the idea of Ne5. It looks good for a < 2000 elo player…
1. Ne5+ RxN
if 1… KxR, 2. NxQ and 3. Qxg6 +/-
if 1… fxe5, 3. Qxg6+ wins
after 2… RxN
3. Rxf6+! Kxf6
(forced because if K moves to the g-file, Qxg6+. if the K moves to e-file, QxR+)
4. Qxe5+ and 5. Qxb8
ne5+ rxn rxf6+ kxf6 qxe5+
Nxg5+
Ok, i was reconsidering the line
1. Ng5+ .. Rxg5
2. hxg5 .. f5
3. Qe5 .. Qd8
4. Rf6+ .. Kg8
5. Rxg6+
I think is better!
1.Ng5+ Rxg5 (fxg5 2.Qxg6+ 1-0)
2.Rxf6+! Kxf6 (Kg7 3.hxg5 1-0 because of the threats Qxg6 and Qe5+ winning the rook on b8)
3.hxg5+ K~
4.Qe5/f4+ wins the rook on b8 1-0
The surprising move Rxf6 is to be seen before giving check at g5, very nice!
Did you hear about the waiter who got his finger stuck in the dishwasher?
The boss fired both of them.
1- Ne5+ Rxe5(forced)
2- Rxf6+ Kxf6
3- Qxe5+ Kf7
4- Qxb8
winning back the exchange with a better endgame
Ke5+ and Black has to take the knight…
with the Rook:
and white plays Rxf6 and then white takes both rooks.
with the Pawn and white plays
Qxg6+ and Black has to give up his queen.
