Following on the extravaganza of the Opening Ceremony of the World Youth Chess Championship, chess players from 20 federations from all over the world had their own stage to showcase their singing and dancing skills. Chess talents from Sweden, Australia, Singapore, Canada, Vietnam, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, South Africa,, New Zealand, Russia, Belarus, South Korea, Macau, Armenia, Malaysia, Greece, India, Germany, Sri Lanka, Sweden, and Turkey went on stage competing for the “Chess Idol” prize of the WYCC.

The winner was Alina Bivol from Russia. Our friends from the WYCC blog, where you can find more details about the event, have taken an interesting video of the talent night. Alina is also doing well in the Girl’s Under-12. She is unbeaten with 5/6 points (+4 =2 ) and is currently in second place.
