can some stronger player, please explain, why Meier played 33. Qxd5 vs. Kramnik and not took the queen w/ the g pawn?

It’s a simple mate in two. 33…Nf4+ 34. Kh1 Rb1+, with mate in two to follow.
The same happens with white’s other two King moves.
