Frankly, I’m confused at this point. Is Susan trying to keep this story going, or wishing it would die out? I don’t see what this article adds to the story that we didn’t already know, so what’s the point of posting it, except to keep the conversation going?
As for the question in the article, “What’s in that toilet?”, at a guess, I’d say Veselin’s professional reputation.
It’s funny. Thanks Peter.
I like the story too. Who is Peter Doggers?
Susan gives us the news. What’s your problem? Are you a troll? If Kramnik and his manager would have shut the hell up, this wouldn’t happen.
Mr. Danailov came to the tournament hall for the first time last Thursday, at the start of round 4. He was smiling a lot and showed everybody his little toilet. Besides playing I was quite active as a blogger at the tournament (since the start of September fully accessible in English by the way!) so I joined the photographers who catched Danailov’s little joke. That’s all.
Sorry, the blog is ‘fully accessible in English’, not the tournament.
Peter Doggers is editor in chief of the great weblog http://www.doggers-schaak.nl, which is also available in English. Susan, Mig and Peter are my daily source for chess!
I’m confused too. Not about why Susan reports on the news, or why P Doggers takes photos and videos while at events (which is all the coverage I saw, here in the states).
What I’m confused about is why are these “professionals” trying to make jokes about their own un-sportsmanlike conduct during a WC event?! If someone photoshopped a toilet into Danailov’s hand, I might chuckle, but to show up in person so soon after the WC making silly jokes is seriously lacking professionalism, in my opinion.
“Susan gives us the news. What’s your problem?”
I thought I explained that. Susan can’t complain that we’re talking too much about the stories that she posts herself. That seems simple enough. You must have just misunderstood and over-reacted.
Probably out of embarrassment. You probably wish Topalov would stop shaming himself as much as I do, but can’t bring yourself to blame him.
“If Kramnik and his manager would have shut the hell up, this wouldn’t happen.”
Now, don’t be hypocritical. If you don’t blame Topalov for lying about him, you can’t possibly blame Kramnik for rebutting the lie. You shgould be happy to learn the truth rather than grousing about it. Remember, people will blame Topalov not only for his own bad sportsmanship, but for yours too. If you’re a bad loser, it trickles onto him.
It is funny, seeing Danailov holding the symbol of what he used to permanently destroy his own client’s reputation. I just thought we were tired of talking about this.

I guess it’s the only way to show yourselve in public at a chess scene after such ludicrous stuff in Elista – to do it with some humour.
We need humor. Peter is right. Go Peter! I wouldn’t have known about your site if it wasn’t for Susan.
Peter D,
do you know if he is selling more of those souviners. It would be nice to be able to purchase one.
thanks
“do unto others as you would have others do unto you”
the Topalov/Danailov has found a way to reverse even this old adage and “it” started throwing stones… to evidence the refutation of
1) the winner is always right
2) they, being not with me, must be against me
3) the king is dead, let’s celebrate the king
4) they sow the wind and reap the whirlwind
5) toilets are chess pieces
6) Honi soit qui mal y pense
the Kramnik/Hensel team has never ever been more than a chess piece in the Topaov/Danailov concept – and there was – of course – no thought about possible implications of losing the Elista match (nothing can be, what is not allowed to be!)- no plan B …
but the unthinkable happened: Topalov lost his crown – and with his crown, his credibility…
and at least Topanailov might reap sweet revenge on the chess community, that mocked him… (a feeling I AM very familiar with – not on the chess, but on the scientific community)
🙂
yours Vohaul
PS1: and please forgive Ms. GM Susan Polgar her soft spot for Topalov – he is a really good looking guy – if i were female, i’d prefer Topalov, too. Kramnik looks like a school boy, with his glasses and his weak bladder – no heart-throb at all … ^^
PS2: my special sense of humor made me live alone ^^ …
Vohaul.. Oh you softy ..
…Ok just this once
