1…… Rg2
If 2. Qf3/Qd1 Rxh2#
If 2.Qxg2 Qg4#
If 2.Rd2 Rxh2+ 3.Qxh2 Qg4#
If 2.Qg4 Qxg4# (If you don’t like the offer 2…. Rxh2+ 3.Qh3 Qg4#)
If 2.g4 Rxh2+ 3.Kg3 Rxe2 wins but for quicker mate 2.g4 Rxe2 3.gxh5 (3.h3 delays mate) Rxh2#
Interesting is 2.f5 Rxe2 3.fxg6 (Now only 3.h3 delays mate)Rxh2#
1. . . . Qxg3+
2. h2xg3 Rh1
3. Qh2 Rxh2 mate
Slight correction to my solution:
1. . . Qxg3+
2. h2xg3 Rh1+
3. Qh2 Rxh2 mate
I am really surprised at the simplicity of the solution. My solution although it has theme is roundabout.
Did you really just add a . and a +?
Yes, Jack, that was really all my correction, but I wanted the solution to be exact.
And yes, Prof. Baht, the solution is very simple, and even elegant.
Ockham’s razor.
Please, I am Bhat not Baht. when I saw the position first …. Qg4# if white Q gets diverted caught my eye and I did not look back.
In order to keep my pride in tact I propose to change the puzzle.Remove white R at d4 and keep it at d2. then only my solution works in winning a R but no mate in sight.
1. . . Qxg3+
2. h2xg3 Rh1+
3. Qh2 Rxh2 #
