1. Qxb7 Ne7 [ … Rxb7 2. Rd8# or … Qc8 2. Qxc6+]
2. Qxb8
1. Qxb7 Rc8 (1. – , Rxb7 2. Rd8#; 1. – , Qc8 2. Qxc6+) 2. Qxc7 hxg5 3. Nd6+ Kf8 4. Nxc8 and followed by 5. Rd8+ 1-0
1.Qxb7 Rc8 looks like only possible defence.
2.Qxc7 threatens mate instantly even if Q is captured.Black has 3 options.
(a)2… hxg5 3.Nd6+ Kf8 4.Nxc8 Be8 wins exchange and 2 pawns.
(b)2…. Ne7 3.Nd6+ Kf8 4.Nxc8 Nxc8 5.Rd8+ Be8 6.Qxc8 again wins exchange.
(c)2….. Kf8 3.Rd8+ Rxd8 4.Bxd8 Rh8 (WHAT ELSE?)5.Rd1 Kg8 6.Rd6 Qe8 7.Rxg6 Bxg6 wins a piece.
In (c) I intended to say 7…. Bxg6 is not possible because of mate at g7 , hence winning a piece.
