1.Nd7! Qxd7
2.Rh4 and mate for example:
2… f6 or f5
3. Qh8+ Kf7
4.Rh7#
1… if f5 immediately than
2.Nf6+ Kf7
3.Qh7+ Kf8
4.Nd7+ and winning the queen for a knight.
4. Qg8#
Anup is right.Noah is partially right.Black has to give up Q for N.
1.Nd7 f5
2.Nf6+ QxNf6
3.exf6 Rc7
4.Qxg6+ Kf8 and now what?
5.Rh4 looks attractive but 5.Rg4 is more accurate.
I don’t see how 5.Rg4 is more accurate (black just takes the rook, though white should still win with ease), but even at that, 4.Rh4 is better than the immediate 4.Qxg6+. I see nothing but mate after either 5.Rh4 or 4. Rh4.
I was too casual. I was not playing on the board but just gazing at the diagram and overlooked black P on f5.
Rook h4
1.Rh4 looks tempting because it forces black to exchange the queen for the rook, but black will also win the the knight that is hanging at c5. Also, white is already down a pawn, too- so the overall material balance is a hard slog for white to win.
1.Nd7 is the correct line.
