Fun one
Qf7 check!!
N chk, N chk R chk, N mates
Yes. Took me a couple of minutes to fully work it out- the first move was instantly found, but I had to work on the two knight checks, especially the second one. A very pretty little 5 move mate.
Just under 3 minutes, I remembered most of it I think.
1. Qxf7+ Kxf7 ( 1. … Kh8 2. Qxg7# ) 2. Ne5+ Ke8 3. Nxg7#
1. Qxf7+ Kxf7 2. Ne5+ Kg8 3. Nf6+ gxf6 ( 3. … Kh8 4. Nf7# ) 4. Rg1+ Kh8 5. Nf7#
I have the second line. But if 2. … Kg5 what then?
The first time I did this puzzle I had an imaginary rook on h8, I’d been solving a lot of problems before that and maybe a bit of tiredness was setting in, so I have been a lot crazier than anybody else at this but 1. Qxf7 Kxf7 2. Ne5+ Kg6 is illegal because the N at e5 is covering g6.
