2. Rf1 (or Be3 or Qe2) Nxc3 wins the knight
1…Nxe4 2. Nxe4 Ba6!
And either the queen or the king is lost. (3 Nf6+ doesn’t help because of 3… Bxf6 4 Qe4 d5 and the queen has no square guarding c3)
Now, what if 1… Nxe4 2 Kb1, the Nf2 forks rook and queen
and if 1… Nxe4 2 Be3, then 2… Nxc3 3 bxc3 Bxc3 and white is 2 pawns down, and drowing…
I meant “guarding c2” instead of “guarding c3”
White might try 2. Rhf1 guarding f2, or even Be1 doing the same, but, yeah, the pawns losses are are almost decisive.
