1. Rxe8+
Rook takes Bishop and night e6
Black will then play Qg6 for a win.

6. Bd8+ Kg7 (the same if 6. Kg8)

Thanx!
White is apiece down.tactic must ensure mate or winning back more material. discovered check by Ne6 (to block BQ’s access to WQ will allow black to play 1…. Bg6. 1.Nxh7+ will result in exchange of Q’s.So the culprit is black b at e8 and it must be eliminated.

1. Rxe8+! Qxe8 removes the last black defender of the g-file. Black must take the rook:
1. … Rxe8
2. Ne6+ Kf7
3. Qg7+ Kxe6
4. Qf6#
2. Nxh7+ Kf7
2. … Kxh7 3.Qg7#
2. … Qg6 3.Qxg6#
3. Qf5+ Ke7
3. … Kg8 4.Qg5+ Kf7 (Kxh7 and Qg6 see above) 5.Qf6#
4. Bf6+ Kf7
4. … Kd6 5.Qd5#
5. Ng5+ Kf8
5. … Kg8 6.Qh7+ Kf8 7.Qg7#
6. Bxd8+ Kg7/g8
7. Qh7+ Kf8
8. Qh8#
6. Nf6+
Why not Ne6 followed by Qg7 mate.
My bad .. Bg6 blocks check
It is the second move that is actually tough to find, in my opinion.
1.Ne6+ with a nice tactic. That’s because with the discovered check, white wins a R for a N.
actually 2nd move was not difficult to find as 2.Ne6 would have given black a chance to cover by 2…. Qg3. So 2.Nxh7+ was natural choice. To find right moves after BK comes into open was a task. For me 4.Bf6+ came with difficulty. I pondered over 4.Ba3+ for sometime. i had thought B at f6 will obstruct other pieces.
kudos to fajac for finding mating net after 1….. Rxe8. I was satisfied with 2.QxQ
