1. Bg5! yields at least the exchange and one pawn:
1. … Bf6 What else? Taking the bishop is out because of
1. … Qxg5 2.Qb3/c4+ Kh8 3.Rf8#
2. Qb3/c4+ Kh8
2. … Kf8 3.Bxh4 and the black bishop is pinned to the king
3. Bxh4 Bxh4
4. Qxd4
White is an exchange and a pawn up, while Black must take care of the threat
5. Qxh4 Qxh4 6.Rf8#
+-
Sorry, second move must be 2.Qc4+ of course in order to take the pawn on square d4.
2. Bxf6 wins the rook
2. … gxf6 (what else?)
3. Qg3+
1.Qc4+ Kh8 2.Qe6!! and wins different ways. eg: 2.. Bf6 3. Qc8+ Qd8 4. Qxd8 & 5.Rf8++ if 2… Qd8 3. Qd7
Urso is correct- if black replies with 1. ….Bf6, white does best to exchange the bishops. Wins a full rook. This was a similar point I made the first time this was posted a couple of months back.
@Karl
1.Qc4+ kh8
