I liked this one … 1.h4+ Kf6 (Kg4 2.Bd1#) 2.Nh5+ Ke5 3.Qc7+ Nd6 (forced) 4.Qxd6+ Ke4 5.Qf4#. Took me a few minutes to find the right way to control the dark squares.
Alternately
4. Re2+ Kd4
5. Rd1#
The filename says Mate-in-4, so is there a quicker finish?
One more way to mate:
1. h4+ Kf6 see Murrel
2. Nh5+ Ke5
And now
3. Rxf5+ exf5
4. Qe7+ Be6
5. Rd5#
And even faster:
3. Qc7+ Nd6
4. Re1#
Yes, this is probably the right answer.
1. Qe7+ Qf6
2. h4+ Kxh4
3. Qh7+ Kg4 or Kg5
4. Qh5 is checkmate
1. Qe7+ Nf6 and h4+ is not an option
A way to mate in 7:
1. Ne6+ BxN
2. h4+ Kf6
3. Rf5+ BxR
4. Qf7+ Ke5
5. Rd5+ Kf4
6. QxB+ Ke3
7. Qf3#
