1. King’s Gambit
2. Positional Sacrifice
Well, it’s not as bad as losing to Kramnik!
Now I know how Bobby felt in Japan when your own country has you arrested. Fischer’s problem was The U.S. had his passport illegaly destroyed and my problem is freedom, the same thing really!
I give you money you beat me not so much.
Kasparov’ smile says: “The more you punish me, the more popular i am becoming. The more popular i am becoming, the more i am getting paid by the various political parties. Thank you for all this as i am getting incredible media coverage.”
“What did you say? It was the hand of who?”
” So you’re saying the girls are pretty in Siberia, eh?”

Fisher got everything he deserved. I completely dislike President Clinton. I am a 100% Republican Bush supporter. However, crazy Prez. Clinton did the right thing by revoking Bobby’s passport.
whey does the world feel so much sympaty toward bobby? He is such an immoral racist. Anyone want to dispute this?
Second, he needs to be and has needed to be in a mental institution to get proper treatement for his sever mental problesm. The U.S. never let him down on this. His problem was never with the U.S.
His problems were within his own deranged mind. Why defend such filtty racism that comes out of his mouth????? He broke the law and knew it whe he played Spassky. Any normal GM would have done differenttly. It’s OK to protest but he went beyond protest into illegality.
He should have been in prison for the past 15 years.
Chess. So what? In the overall scheme of life and the universe chess is insignificant and so is Bobby Fischer. Fundamentally, life is about so much more than chess.
Fischer has caused more pain by his racist remarks and deranged behavior than anything he did for chess.
Humanity will survive without chess. Why say the U.S. did anything “illegal”??? Even the idiot Clinton did what was right…for once…by trying to bring a deranged nutcase to justice.
Why does the chess world have such a “bleeding heart” for such a racist moron, mentally disabled nutcase as Fischer????
He was the WCC. Big deal. Take him away from the 64 squares and he is no better than any racist Nazi.
but so many idiots defend him because he could play a game????
what about the pain and stupidity and racist remarks that have come from his vile mouth in his life? Why ignore that?
It’s disgusting to see people defend such a vile example of humanity. Let Fischer alone and die in obscurity. He has hurt more people in the world by his deranged and insane remarks than anything positive that he done over the chess board.
After all, what is really more important in life? Chess or morality and ethics? Fischer was and is an insane nutcase.
He deserves no sympathy just because he could play a game of chess.
There are far more important things in life than a game of chess or the entire chess world for that matter.
Get a life people!!!
If he had never played a game of chess, then he’d be hated by everyone due to his insane remarks.
It’s a disgrace that so many mindless freaks defend the vile “thing” that is called Fischer.
Let him rot. He deserves no pity. He would not give pity to any Jew…or so he says.
’nuff said.
“You serious that ChessBase will now use this as my player photo?”
Ain’t ya the guy I used to beat badly at chess in high school?…
Yes Kaspy, Yar never thought of falling in my hands do ya…he he he… revenge’s sweet.

I dont know how to respond to such a stupid moron like yourself, but I will try. President Clinton did not not sign The illegal executive order to arrest Bobby Fischer for playing chess!!! It was president Bush Sr. It was illegal for these reasons. Legislation to arrest someone on those grounds have to go through the House of Congress before issuing such a warrant, which wasnt done. Secondly a person with a revoked passport has to be notified by a U.S. Diplomat personally to the said person. This wasnt done. Thirdly its against the law to destroy an American citizens passport without an appeal of said person involved. This wasnt done. No matter how much you hate Bobby Fischer or anyone else you cant strip them of their human rights! The last I checked free speech is legal and protected by The U.S. Constitution no matter how mcuh you disagree with the remarks and comments of others. You also stated any other GM would not have played in Yugoslavia, Bobby broke the law and he knew it. Well GM Boris Spassky also played and he was not punished or any of the organizers of the chess match. You have the mindset of Adolf Hitler when you remark that a mentally ill person should rot in jail. You sound racist to me! Yo say why do people care about a game of 64 squares. Well this is a chess blog not a Klu Klux Klan blog so people are interested in perhaps the games greatest player and if you could play the game at 1/100th of the level and creativity of Mr Fischer then maybe a mindless freak like you could be taken seriously!
Hey, Susan,
When you have these “Create your own caption”‘s, why don’t you tell us which you think is(are) the best one(s)!
Karpov!?…No, I won’t…not in here…Keres was forced to throw all those games to Botvinnik, remember?
“You’re right. This really is a joke.”
