Larry Christiansen, Joel Benjamin, and Luis Bernal Moro tied for 1st at the 2008 Curacao Open.

Bernal Moro lost his last game from the tournament against Thomas Willemze who refused a draw offer after only four moves. Although Bernal Moro made a GM norm he must have had mixed feelings to give away ‘a certain’ tournament victory in the very last moment against Willemze.

Joel Benjamin defeated Daniel Fridman and Larry Christiansen defeated Anna Zatonskih to share the first prize.
