Obviously a US Championship. And therefore, probably the 1963/4 Championship, because on this day, someone would want to take a picture from his best one.
(How’s that for using TV Logic to solve a real life problem?)
That’s Reshevsky, right? Did he play in the 1963-4 championship? I’m trying to remember when the Piatagorsky cup was, 1962 or something like that.

Yes, he did. In fact, Reshevsky played in all 8 US Championships that Fischer played in, so that’s no clue.
Actually, another reason I believe that this is the 63/4 Championship is that I’ve seen the Chess Life Articles on that tournament, and I recognize the kind of lamps that were used on the tables.
Although that may not be a good clue, since all the US Championships were played at the Henry Hudson hotel in those days, they probably used the same lamps in multiple years.
Susan, do we know if a minute’s silence was observed in Fischer’s honor at Corus 2008?
I think that is in order.
Of course, read here :

etc …
Yes, there was one minute of silence as per this Corus video:

Also check out this nice video of a young Fischer on U.S. television from 50 years ago:

Wow. Thank you for those links. It’s amazing to see Bobby so young and untainted by life.
I still can’t believe that he is really gone.
Wow. Thank you for those links! Please post more!!
