Peter Svidler.
That’s ukrainian prodigy Illya Nyzhnyk- whose last name would, if placed on a triple word score in Scrabble, garner 87 points!

It’s “Mikey” from the Life cereal box.
Feed him polonium brand frosted cereal flakes. He likes it!
It’s Chucky, drug-free.
It’s Nyzhnyk, future GM and world champ!
“It’s Chucky, drug-free.”
HAHAHA
Awesome!
Is that nige short the kid from England?
Brad, you can put the Z on the double letter score and the K then punches out to the triple word score, and you end up with 167 (with the 50 point bonus for using all seven of your letters)! Impressive, but Nepomniachtchi scores 338–more than doubling Nyzhnyk.
It takes more than pudgy cheeks to be WC.
To anon who augmented my post,
Indeed! Thank you for looking into that, and remembering to include the 50 point rule.
Brad H.
… Or, I could lie and say that I, in my calculation, assumed that the “Z” was already in place.
Brad H.
For the scrabble ones, you need a word of at least 8 letters to have de 50 points !! your 7 and one on the board, no?
Not necessarily. Any one of the letters in the played word could extend a word going in the perpendicular direction. For instance, if there was a vertical word “PAW”, one of the “N”s in Nyzhnyk could be used to extend that word to “PAWN”.
How’s that for bringing the subject back to chess. 🙂

NYZHNYK
Nice!
Actually you can not use people’s names as words in Scrabble, so ‘Nyzhnyk’ or any other name would yield 0 points!
Can you name this chess player?
Why? Doesn’t he already have a name?
🙂
🙂
“The Curious Case of Viktor Korchnoi”. Don’t look for him in 10 years time.
Touche, Sam.
