Pinoy Chess Buff
Truly a chess dream team! Besides the reigning world champion Botvinnik, three others are future world champions (Smyslov, Tal & Petrosian). Two more are are runners up in the world championship (Bronstein & Keres) and among the best players never to have become world champion. Kotov is the non-playing captain – an endgame specialist and chess trainer in his own right.
Truly, a chess dream team! Imagine a team today comprised entirely of world/ex-world champs & runners up.
Really a great dream team !
