Hou Yifan continues the reign
Hou Yifan, the 17-years old Chinese wonder and Women’s World Champion since 2010, will continue her reign for another year after defeating the challenger Humpu Koneru from India in the World Championship Match in Tirana, Albania.
The 8th game of the match finished in a draw as Humpy Koneru clearly lost the ambition to try and equalize the score in order to proceed into tiebreaks.
Yifan won three games and five were drawn for the final result of 5.5-2.5 (best of 10) in favour of the defending Champion.

FIDE Press officer Anastasiya Karlovich informs that the closing ceremony of the match will be held as scheduled on the 30th of November. The players will stay in Albania for a few days longer despite the early finish.
