It actually happened. On Twitter, the World championship (#AnandCarlsen) wrested the No. 1 slot in India trends from #ThankYouSachin for some time on Wednesday. #3 was the official #FWCM2013 of the Anand – Carlsen World Championship match.

Carlsen’s aces

Magnus Carlsen spent his rest day at the resort he had been staying in before he checked in at the Hyatt Regency on the eve of the match. “He rested a bit and played some tennis. He is happy with the way he has played so far, especially in the last game,” Carlsen’s manager Espen Agdestein said.

Viswanathan Anand, once again, chose to stay indoors.

In wonderland

The enormity of the World championship strikes people in different ways. For young Karthik, son of Grandmaster R.B. Ramesh, a commentator here, and WGM Aarthie Ramaswamy, what stood out was the sheer size of the venue.

“What a big building,” he exclaimed to his mother. Karthik is just three, by the way.
