Greetings from Austin, TX! I am in Austin promoting chess to the Legislatures and dozens of Superintendents from across the state of Texas. My proposal has passed the first two stages by unanimous votes.
When it is finally approved, it will help chess in the schools in Texas grow by many folds. In addition, schools from major Texas cities which have strong chess programs such as Dallas, Brownsville, Houston, Austin, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Lubbock, etc. will benefit tremendously while smaller cities will have a chance to catch up.
In addition, when it is approved, it will also be the biggest chess project ever for any state. Stay tuned for more information in the near future.
Good luck Susan! Do it for all of us.
Susan,
It’s amazing that the Texas legislature was so receptive to your proposal. Most states would cut programs to help balance the budget. Does your proposal require funding from the State of Texas? If so, then that’s even more amazing.
GO SUSAN GO!!!!
Congratulations Susan!
Can we have more information about this proposal?(who did you propose to,what exactly you proposed, and who are the key persons who take this desecions?) Many states could benefit from your proposal.
I don’t think Susan should explain anything in details after it is officially approved. The problem is there a few trouble makers who look for ways to destroy chess progress in this country. The USCF isn’t doing a thing to stop these loonies. By her making things public before the proposal is officially signed and passed, these loony tunes can harm it.
