There are 11 GMs in this picture. Can you name all of them? I will give you a hint:
You see 10 GMs clearly. The 11th GM is partially blocked. However, you can figure who that 11th GM is by figuring out which round it is.
Have fun 🙂
There were 10 GMs and 2 IMs taking part of this tournament. It was a very tough event and an excellent warm-up for me for the NYC Mayor’s Cup next week as I faced some very strong opponents.
I lost to Ehlvest in a winning position, drew Gagunashvili in a winning position and drew Kacheishvili in a losing position.

You said it!
Okay, results appeared in USCHESS.ORG/MSA.Polgar got 5 out of 7 and 8th place with draws against Gagunashvili and Kacheishvili and loss to Jan Ehlvest. She scored full points against all weaker players she played
Polgar and Gagunashvili playing in the forefront.
Akobian in the black/blue shirt.
Ehlvest, Mikhalevski and Mitkov standing behind Akobian.
Browne, Kritz, and Perelshyten standing behind Polgar.
Looks like Izoria playing next to Akobian.
That would be 10 but don’t know who the partially blocked one is.
So what’s the correct answer Susan.
I thought it was Darmen Sadvakasov playing against Varuzhan Akobian.
To the one who wants to know how Susan did: It’s there, 5/7, and if you click on her name, and on the other names, you will see hers their USCF information.

How is GM Walter Browne doing? I’d heard he’d had some health problems and retired a few years ago. I’m glad he’s still playing.
“I lost to Ehlvest in a winning position”
Susan, post this game and we’ll find where you went wrong! I have a Pentium 4 with 7Gb of Ram, that’s about as strong as the whole tournament you played on (x2).
