What happened to Kamsky? Why is he in 5th place?
And where is he supposed to be???
According to rating, he is the 7th strongest from those 14 participants.
O no, americans are always the best of all.
at least they think so. Dream on, fellows!
Besides Kamsky is not an American 😉
I don’t think any American is over 2500.
Folks, don’t be unfair. Ther are still a couple fo decent American players, well exceeding the 2,500 threshold, e.g. Christiansen or Friedel, to name just two. FIDE website will give you that kind of information. Though, of course, there are not many strong native American players, almost all being imported from the Eastern European States…
You could name only two, because there are only two. (okay, Joel Benjamin is also there)
And Friedel’s 2524 is not exactly well exceeding the 2500 🙂
Besides few exceptions Americans never had any serious chess players. It’s like somebody would say that Norway has good chess players, just because they have Magnus :p
