When nothing works go for the most unexpected.
1.Ke2? or 1.Ke2!
(a)1… f1=Q++ 2.Ke3 and now
any check by Q or B is met by discovered check by moving R at f6 or B at b5 depending on the move.
(b)1… Nc1+ 2.Ke3 and next move ditto as in (i)
and now K moves.
(c)1…. Kxe4 2.Bd3+ Kd4 3.Rf4#
(d)1… Kd4 2.Rf4+ e5 3.Ng3#
There are so many possibilities which I am not able to check.There could be some flaw somewhere.
Bd3+ Kd4
Rf3+ e5 OR Be5
Rd5++
Well, it has been over a day, so I will just point out that this starts with the very, very non-obvious move of Ke2.
For me, this was just invisible!
Yes, Prof S.G.Bhat and Yancey, Ke2! Works in all variations!
The most amazing was the following variation
1.Ke2!!!.f1=Q+
2.Ke3!!!.Qxb5.
3.d4#!! A lowly pawn delivers the final blow with the aid of the King in the middle of the Board!
2…..Qxf6.3.Bf1#!!! Is also pretty! Here any 3.B5 move mates!
