The queen must be sacrificed.
Hi Susan,
A lot of Checks for the first move :
1.Rd4+ but Bxd4
1.Qh4+ but f4 and 2. Qxf4+ Kxf4 … not very good
So I think :
1. Ng4+ Ke5
Then,
2. Bb2+ because Qe2+ doesn ´t work (2. …Ne4 and 3. Qxe4+ fxe4) also 2. Re7+ too much space for the black King to escape. So :
2. B2+ Kf4
Finally,
3. Qf3# (queen protected by her knight)
Am I right ?
À bientôt

The black king is boxed in and cannot move at all. If we check with the queen at h4, there are only two moves black can make. Block with the pawn at f4 or with the knight at g4. If black chooses the pawn block, the queen will take it mating the black monarch. So, the knight must block on g4, but this too is inadequate due to the queen check at e7. If the knight blocks at e5, then the queen takes at e5 delivering mate. The only alternative is to take the queen with the bishop, but then the bishop no longer covers the d4 square allowing the rook to make the decisive blow on that square.

I had a visualization problem again 🙁
Qg3 is not checkmate ‘cos the king escapes through f6 (the knight is no longer there to block the king!)
