‘Checkmate’ at the State

The movie “Checkmate” will have its world première at 7 p.m. Aug. 20 at the State Theatre in Modesto.
“Checkmate” is the story of a young man who wants to win a national chess tournament and find his destiny.
This full-length feature film, written and directed by Arvin N. Berner, was filmed in the Modesto area. Many of the cast and crew members are from the Modesto area. Tickets are available at www.thestate.org or at the State Theater box office, 1307 J St.

MY GOD!!! jUDGIING BY THE TRAILER..this looks even worse that that spectacularily Bad Fischer Movie they put out last year!!! (If such a thing was possible) Why is it that only nerds and people who can`t make film do films about chess..I mean..it`s embarrasing.
I wonder if it’s a good movie.
