Texas Tech legend Bob Knight RESIGNS!!!!!!!!!!!!
His record was 902-371
Why did he resign in mid season??
Is it a draw?
1. b6 Bf3
2. a6 Nd4
3. b7 Bxb7
4. axb7 Nc6
5. Kd7 Kb5
6. Ke6
and then catch the h pawn.

I’m afraid that answer isn’t even close. Hint: The answer is either White Wins, Black Wins, or Draw.
david:
**Is it a draw?**
maybe. there are some peculiarities though.
1. b6 bh5+! 2. kf8 bf3 and the king no longer has the tempo to catch the h pawn -+
2. kd8 (=2. kc7, ke7) kxa5 3. b7 nb4 and 5… nc6/a6 -+
2. kd7! looks like a draw: 2… bg4+ 3. ke8 bf3 and see Davids’ line
such intermission checks are very typical in rook endgames but kinda rare in bishop endings
axel
1.b6 Bf3
2.a6 Nd4
3.Kd7! wins for white
(maybe)

Isn’t:
1.b6 Bh5+
2.Kf8 Bf3
3.a6 Nd4
4.b7 Bxb7
5.axb7 Nc6
6.Kf7 h5
7.Ke6 h4
8.Kd5 Kb5
9.Ke4
… adequate?
**… adequate?**
yes, u r right! btw 1. b6 bh5+! 2. kd7? bg4+ 3. ke8 (as i proposed) actually loses: 3… bc8 -+
