Carlsen – Svidler in the final tomorrow.
So Nakamura – blitz champion will play only for bronze
The blitz king is dead. Long live the king!
…and then Magnus said, “Hey Naka, you wanta some mura punishment?”
Then Naka said, “Rosebud.”
LOL, Naka didn’t even manage to reach the finals! It’s so cool that he lost a blitz game with white against Magnus!
I guess the rivalry between Magnus and Naka is alive only/mainly among anonymous geeks like us, posting wiseass comments like this one. Probably they have a friendly and professional relation. It’s nice to see Naka playing overseas. The margins are small in top level chess, and Naka didn’t have luck on his side this time.
Bobby:
This isn’t about luck:
Naka is a chicken: He took a very short draw with white against Magnus in the rapids. He should at least have tried to win. He was punished for his cowardly play during the blitz playoff: Two losses and no ticket to the finals.
FROGBERT (from chessgames.com):
“also, i can’t help mentioning the following: after these blitz tie-breaks, i hope a number of naka fans will realize that otb blitz against the world’s best blitzers is different from playing blitz games on icc or playchess.
i’ve heard dozens of times that naka should be invited to the blitz world championship, tal memorial blitz and so on, while i have argued that if naka’s so superior at blitz, then he should simply play the qualifier for one of these top otb blitz events to prove his strength. these qualifiers are actually open, and you proceed “simply” by placing top x there (usually at least 4-5 players qualify this way).
maybe naka knows it’s not such a done deal himself. so far he hasn’t tried even once to play one of these qualification events. clearly higher rated players than naka have had to go through qualifiers to play the tal memorial blitz final, for instance.”
Nakamura is way overrated and his glory is only in the eyes of ICC and playchess users. People outside of ICC and playchess never even heard of Nakamura.
last I checked Naka tied in the rapids with Magnus and svindler so why are people so negative.
Don’t hate the player (Naka), hate the game!
How can I hate chess? I can’t stay mad at her for long! 😉
Chess is my drug of choice.

“…so why are people so negative.”
Because they are washed up fish who have been 1400 level players for decades.
Yes, I agree. Too much negative comments from Anonymous.
Show some respect, please.
I agree. Too much comment from dead World Champions.
Yup.
Playing blitz on ICC and OTB are 2 different things…
On ICC you can’t know for sure if your opponent is consulting with a program…
