Carlsen receives the Chess Oscar at the opening ceremony of Botvinnik Memorial

Magnus Carlsen won the Chess Oscar 2010 in a voting by chess journalists a few months ago. Today, at the opening ceremony of Botvinnik Memorial 2011, Magnus Carlsen received the prize itself. “I am happy to have won the Chess Oscar, especially in an year where there was a World Championship,” said Magnus Carlsen at the opening ceremony.
