Carlsen confirms Linares 2011 participation
The agreement was reached during Corus
Report by Chessdom.com

Magnus Carlsen will not participate in the 2010 edition of Linares, but is the first player to confirm participation for Linares 2011. The agreement was reached during a meeting at Corus between Henrik Carlsen and Juan Fernández.

Carlsen might have the chance to play at 2 different continents at Linares 2011, as the organizers are leading active negotiations for sharing the event with UAE. The deal for the 2010 event fell through, but the two sides are still open to the idea and looking for an agreement.

A good practice of intercontinental chess for the young Norwegian will be this year’s Grand Slam Final, to be played Sep 3rd-12th in Shanghai (China) and October 6th-14th in Bilbao (Spain).
