GM Wesley So is the NEW USA # 1 & ranked # 6 in the live ratings @ 2700chess.com. Still undefeated after round 7 of the 2015 Tata Steel Masters & is on fire… Lotis Key is the new manager & spiritual adviser of GM Wesley So. I guess God is much powerful than a chess coach eh :d
I think wesley made the right decision.. he is playing much better and can only focus on one endeavor at a time. u can not do both one will suffer or both will suffer as your time and focus is divided..
This should motivate Wesley to work even harder. The pressure becomes heavier as you climb up the ladder. For how long can he stay among the top remains to be seen. Good job so far!
Wesley is like Caruana who was on fire before but faded very badly lately after his grueling match with Carlsen at Sinquefield Tourney. I believed that Magnus took a lot of his stamina on those games. Wesley will cool off too after this tourney.
Nakamura at 27 years old now, NEVER reach 2800 level at his peek although he came close last year… I wonder if Wesley at 21 years old manage to break the 2800 barrier this year… it would be really painful to Nakamura who is supposed to be the only one capable of challenging Carlsen (according to him when he was smoking weeds) But Nakamura can console himself as the greatest bullet chess player ever to live (albeit not FIDE recognized) :d
I saw the video of wesley’s interview and analysis with yasser at tata steel tournament. his calculation prowess and ability to foresee all the moves are outstanding!!
wesley’s prepation seems excellent as well. his win against ivanchuk was one of the easiest mainly out of preparation.. he knew alll the moves.. that was way too easy and that was against white! chucky’s facial expression was priceless.
well basically wesley was playing for a draw.. he said it was a forced draw.. but chucky did not know the moves and as such made terrible moves resulting in a worse defeat!! better study all the games and it will help you. that’s why all these pro have been putting in alot of time and effort studying chess.
Wesley So goes from strength to strength. He works hard to improve his weaknesses, so I expect him to play even better after this tournament. He exudes self-confidence while being humble and looks very comfortable with himself. He is the only player who never loses his smile while on interviews and game analysis. Other players, Carlsen included, sometimes seem so bored (and boring).
former webster number 1 wesley so follows second closely!!!
yup current no. 1 u.s player!! calling rex for sponsorhip
So has surpassed Nakamura.
So is on fire.
Lotis Key doing a much better job with this kid it looks like

The preparation for the move NxG2 was concocted by Lotis Key

if wesley continue to play well he might break the 2800 ths year.. hopefully it will happen!!
So far, a fine performance by So.
if wesley breaks the 2800 hopefully this will silence his critics. even if he did not and stay in top 10 to 15 that is still good.
