Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
let’s hope that mister big thing from america will remind us all that Carlsen is from NORWAY
P.S HOW WOULD YOU SPELL ?
K U C I N I C H I M P E A C H
???
Carlsen is from NORWAY, the obviously top chess country in the world, able to produce better players than Russia and USA combined.
Im from Norway too,but spare me such stupid comments like Norway “able to produce better players than Russia and USA combined.” We are lucky to have such an enormous great chess player but none of or other Gms are near his level.
I’m from Norway too, but I think you didn’t catch the sarcasm in his voice, Anon 🙂 (“the obviously top chess country in the world”)
He (or she) was saying exactly the same that you did, only with a sarcastic twist.
Oh, by the way, Magnus won after a terrific endgame in which he slowly but steadily outplayed his opponent.
so, the stories goes like this … one norwegian is the best chess player in the world … two other norwegian are watching this with great attention … and then look at each other … and admit that they are stupid … OUAH !!! can’t wait to visit your country guys !
p.s the meaning of this is both stupid and sarcastic …
3.5/4 should add about 14 points to his elo. I base that on 5 for a win and lose 1 point on a draw. so +15 then -1 gives 14
thus 2765 + 14 = 2779 very rough estimate. Only 21 points and he blows through 2800 and why not. His TPR is usually well above 2800.
Although the last 2 lists seem to show a rise in the average rating across the board. Many players are crowded just below 2800.

Magnus is now 2787.5
It’s all on the live rating list:

You forgot that he got 10 points from Grand Prix
“. and admit that they are stupid … OUAH !!! can’t wait to visit your country guys !”
Uh, I think it was the first guy who didn’t catch the sarcasm. Not the other one. Why would he be stupid, when he did in fact see the sarcasm? You’re the one who looks stupid now.
“p.s the meaning of this is both stupid and sarcastic …”
Really? So you do admit that you’re stupid too?
And this statement comes from a guy who lives in a country whose president is about as intelligent as a chimpanzee? (Well, perhaps I’m exaggerating a bit here: Perhaps he’s not that smart).
What a level of comments … pffff.
Guys, focus more on the chess and less on ridiculing other people.
Relax. I’m from Norway too, and I like and understand sarcasm :-)Of course, even in Norway Magnus has more than average intelligence.

If only Carlsen wins 4 more games and makes no loss in this tournament, the 2800 mark will be passed.

King Magnus will win.
Bobby was 2785 elo … (29 years old). Magnus, is really phenomenal. 2900 elo is really possible in few years … i am happy to follow that.
THE KING.
