Two minutes !?
If it was Radjabov who was late 5 minutes late they would let him play.
They know that Cori had the momentum and was going to beat Radja.
it is so sad . i think Cori could have won! bad committee x( ! Arriba Perú! 😀
So his sister knew to be on time & he didn’t!? Lame.
“So his sister knew to be on time” she was knocked off at 1st round. Jorge was late to 3rd round. Jorge, estamos contigo, le hiciste frente de igual a igual al Super GM Radjabov quien no pudo superarte. Arriba los Cori y Julio Granda!!!
Poor young GM forfeited without actually losing a game over the board after a 2 min lateness? Over a obvious lingual misunderstanding? Shame on FIDE yet again.
Radjabov should be ashamed to have such a point gifted to him. This is worse than the free point Topalov got from Kramnik at the ‘Toilegate’ World championship
Radjabov was voted to win this tournament… obviously they commitee cant let him lose on the first round!!
Absolutely despicable by FIDE… do they love chess or just the free $500?
All they had to do was admit they made a mistake (by not having round times displayed in writing on a board! – The players’ meeting clearly stated that there would be a BIG DISPLAY, that YOU CAN’T MISS about when was the next round and how much time is left until it happens, with an extra countdown 5 minutes before, so I think they are not living up to their own declarations in the arbiter group.) and reschedule both blitz games.
Zero tolerance = zero intelligence.
