Having already won the tournament with a round to spare, Magnus does have an incentive to go all out in his final game. He needs to beat Jakovenko to break 2800. And he did it in style. Magnus is now the youngest player in history to break 2800.

It looks so easy!
Astounding!
Er, Ah, ummm : about that –

I guess I was wrong. Wow what a performance.
Arctic Knight
Of course he won. In every game he’s had the red kimono jacket, and red is just about the luckiest colour you can have in China.
Of course he won. In every game he’s had the red jacket, just about the most fortunate color you can get in China …
He won because I said he wouldn’t.
Can’t wait to see Magnus do battle with Anand, Kramnik et al at the Tal Memorial. Superb!
‘He needs to beat Jakovenko to break 2800.’
And then he needs to retire to stay above 2800. Hahahahahahahaha. I can’t stop laughing at my own jokes. Can you?
My comment is better than your comment.

thats what i first thought it looked so easy. a couple players made it look esy capa, fischer at the end of his career
too easy for me! Jakovienko played like a 2000 player. Why did he wait so long with f7-f6 allowing Magnus to carry on his f2-f4-f5 plan?
Jakovenko got Magnutized. That’s what happend!
A terrible game by Jakovenko. No counterplay whatsoever on the queenside. He just let Carlsen dictate the action the whole way.
